Roman by birth, Parisian by adoption.

After graduating in Communication Sciences, Virginia de Gasperis, in art Gigì, spent her professional years working for international companies wondering what life had in store for her. Never satisfied, always looking for more, which came in 2010 upon her arrival in Paris.

Art was the true calling.

Almost by chance, she landed at the atelier d’artiste of the french sculptor Marie LaVarande who initiated her in sculpture. From then on, without the incline of a doubt, she knew she had found her path and re-invents herself.

An intense experimentation period was started which will continue during the “american years”  (2017-2020) when Gigì moves to San Francisco and attends sculpture specialization courses held by the known artist Thomas Durham at the Academy Of Arts Of San Francisco.

As figurative sculptor, Gigì stands out for the strong psycho-social characterization of her works, where the clay versatility allows her to infinitely dare its limits in the quest for her truth.

Nowadays she lives in Florence with her family and her oeuvres d’art are part of private collections in Italy and abroad.

In October 2021, she will participate at the XII edition of Florence Biennale.
